1.PG Fitness Center Membership
These terms and conditions (hereinafter also referred to as the "General Terms") apply to the agreement between PG Fitness Center (hereinafter "PG") and the named individual (hereinafter the "Member").
A PG membership is strictly personal, and the minimum age for membership is 15 years. The Member is responsible for keeping their membership-related information up to date. Membership-related information includes full name, address, email address, and personal identity code. Member details can be updated via the PG app or by emailing hamina@pgkuntokeskukset.fi.
Depending on the membership type, the membership entitles the holder to unlimited use of either one or—for an additional fee—all PG fitness centers during the contract period, subject to the membership terms and opening hours. The membership does not include equipment orientation, personal gym instruction, or a personalized workout program.
2. Joining as a Member
Joining as a PG member is possible only via the PG online store at www.pgkuntokeskukset.fi. The person joining must provide the information requested in the online store to set up the membership and is responsible for the accuracy of said information. A Finnish personal identity code is required for identification, the setup of e-invoicing, and potential debt collection procedures. A separate privacy policy is available on the PG Kuntokeskukset website. If a prospective member does not have a Finnish personal identity code, they should contact hamina@pgkuntokeskukset.fi via email to sign up.
Membership is confirmed by accepting the PG terms and conditions and paying a one-time joining fee, as well as—depending on the membership type—either the membership fee for the first billing period or the fee for an annual membership.
2.1. Joining fee
The one-time joining fee covers the costs of setting up the membership and the access card. The joining fee is non-refundable. The joining fee is always charged when the membership is established.
2.2. Right of cancellation for online purchases
Memberships purchased via the online store are subject to a 14-day right of cancellation in accordance with the Consumer Protection Act (KSL 6:14). If the membership is cancelled within 14 days, PG retains the paid joining fee as reasonable compensation in accordance with KSL 6:19. Notice of cancellation must be sent to hamina@pgkuntokeskukset.fi within 14 days of the purchase.
2.3. Membership for minors
A person under the age of 18 may become a PG member only with the consent of a guardian. The minimum age for membership is 15 years. The minor’s guardian is responsible for the minor’s membership and associated charges (including any snack vending machine purchases made using the membership card). The billing address of the person paying for the minor’s membership (or the guardian) must be provided via email to hamina@pgkuntokeskukset.fi.
3. Membership Card
The PG membership card is strictly personal. It must not be given to another person for use, nor may it be used to grant another person access to PG facilities. The member is personally responsible for the safekeeping and use of their membership card, as well as for any purchases made with it.
The membership card serves as a personal identification tool and access pass for PG facilities. Every visit must be registered by scanning the membership card at the access gate reader. The membership card grants access to PG services for the duration of the membership.
New members should collect their membership card from the reception of their primary PG center during opening hours.
Loss of the membership card must be reported immediately via the customer service form or by email to hamina@pgkuntokeskukset.fi. Transactions occurring prior to the report of loss are the cardholder's responsibility. A replacement card for a lost or damaged one can be collected from the reception during opening hours. A separate fee, in accordance with the current price list, is charged for replacing a card that has been damaged or lost during use. Defective cards are replaced free of charge.
4. Membership types
4.1. PG 24/7, an ongoing membership
PG 24/7 is a continuous, ongoing membership (also referred to as a "monthly membership"). The agreement enters into force the moment the individual accepts these terms and conditions, confirms the membership purchase in the PG online store, and makes the associated payments in full. A confirmation of the agreement is sent to the member's email address. The first billing period begins at the time of joining. The applicable terms and conditions can be found on the PG fitness center websites.
The PG 24/7 ongoing membership remains valid until it is separately terminated in writing. The ongoing membership is billed in four-week cycles. The notice period for termination is one billing cycle. A billing cycle is defined as the period between the due dates of consecutive bills. The termination procedure is described separately in these membership terms.
4.2. PG Annual Pass, annual membership paid in a lump sum
The PG Annual Pass is a fixed-term annual membership lasting twelve (12) months, valid for one (1) year from the membership start date, with the full fee for the term paid in a single payment. The membership is valid from the moment of purchase. The membership cannot be terminated before the end of the contract period. Upon the expiration of the contract period, the membership may be renewed, discontinued, or changed to a different membership type in accordance with the price list in effect at the time.
4.3. PG 24/7 Annual Membership, annually billed membership with monthly payments
The PG 24/7 Annual Membership is a fixed-term annual membership lasting twelve (12) months, valid for one (1) year from the membership start date. The membership is billed in four-week cycles. The first billing period begins upon joining, and the membership is valid from the moment of purchase. The contract is binding for the entire 12-month term and cannot be terminated before the end of the contract period. Upon the expiration of the fixed term, the membership continues as an open-ended membership (PG 24/7) in accordance with the then-current price list, unless the member terminates the agreement.
4.4 PG fixed-term monthly passes
PG fixed-term monthly passes are memberships with a duration of 1 to 6 months; the membership is valid for the selected term (1–6 months) starting from the membership commencement date, and the full amount for the term is paid in a single payment. The membership terminates automatically at the end of the paid period. The membership is valid from the moment of purchase. The membership cannot be terminated before the end of the contract period. Upon the expiration of the contract period, the membership may be renewed or changed to a different membership type in accordance with the then-current price list.
4.5 PG single-visit passes, 10-visit passes, and 20-visit passes
PG passes entitle the holder to 10 or 20 visits at the selected center. A 10-visit pass is valid for 3 months from the date of purchase or until the visits have been used. A 20-visit pass is valid for 6 months from the date of purchase or until the visits have been used. The pass is valid from the date of purchase, and the full amount is paid in a single payment. The card expires automatically once the visits have been used up or the validity period has ended. The membership is valid from the moment of purchase. The membership cannot be terminated before the end of the contract period. Upon the conclusion of the contract period, the membership may be renewed or switched to a different membership type in accordance with the current price list.
4.6 Single visit
The PG single-visit card entitles the holder to one visit at the center of their choice. The visit must be used within one week of the purchase date. The card expires automatically once the visits have been used up or the validity period has ended. The membership is valid from the moment of purchase. Payments made are non-refundable.
5. Billing
The ongoing membership (PG 24/7) and the monthly-billed 12-month fixed-term annual membership (PG Annual Membership) are billed every four weeks. The due date for monthly payments shifts in accordance with the four-week billing cycles. Once a year, the payment due dates will fall within the same calendar month.
Upon joining, a one-time joining fee and the payment for the first four-week period must be paid using a payment method accepted in the online store. Payments made in the online store cannot be split across multiple payment methods, with the exception of PG gift cards. From the second month of membership onwards, the monthly fee is paid via online banking using e-invoicing (requires an e-invoice agreement) or by means of special payment methods separately described in the terms and conditions.
6. Payment Methods
6.1. PG 24/7 (ongoing membership): e-invoice
For ongoing memberships, the e-invoice is sent to the member’s online banking service every four weeks. The member must set up an e-invoice agreement in their online bank within three (3) days of joining. Instructions for setting up the e-invoice agreement are sent to the member via email upon joining and are also available on the PG website. The member is responsible for carefully reviewing the instructions to ensure payment is made correctly.
The member is personally responsible for receiving e-invoices and for maintaining a valid e-invoice agreement throughout the duration of the membership. If no e-invoice agreement is in place, the invoice will be sent by mail—either as a paper invoice or as a notification to an electronic mailbox service selected by the customer. A €5 billing surcharge is added to invoices delivered in this manner.
Failure to pay the invoice or cancellation of the e-invoice agreement does not terminate the ongoing membership contract. The member is liable for any costs arising from the following: failure to set up an e-invoice agreement before the invoice is generated; termination of the e-invoice agreement prior to the end of the membership; deletion of the invoice from online banking; or failure to confirm and pay the invoice via online banking by the due date. It is the member's responsibility to report any incorrect invoices to hamina@pgkuntokeskukset.fi.
6.2. PG 24/7 Annual Pass (fixed-term annual membership paid in full): one-off payment via the online store
For the fixed-term annual membership paid in full (PG 24/7 Annual Pass), the annual fee and joining fee are paid in full via the PG online store when the membership is established. Before the fixed term expires, the member will receive a payment proposal from PG for the subsequent one-year fixed-term contract period. By paying the proposed amount, the membership continues without interruption for the next one-year fixed-term contract period. If the member does not wish to continue the membership, they must notify PG via email at hamina@pgkuntokeskukset.fi.
6.3. PG 24/7 Annual Membership (billed monthly): e-invoice
Annual membership billed monthly (PG 24/7 Annual Membership). Instructions for setting up an e-invoice agreement are sent to the member via email upon joining and are available on the PG website. The member must carefully review the instructions to ensure payments are made correctly.
The member is personally responsible for receiving e-invoices and maintaining a valid e-invoice agreement throughout the duration of their membership. If no e-invoice agreement exists, the invoice will be sent by mail—either as a paper invoice or as a notification to an electronic mailbox service chosen by the customer. A €5 billing surcharge will be added to invoices delivered in this manner.
Failure to pay an invoice or the cancellation of an e-invoice agreement does not terminate the fixed-term PG 24/7 annual membership contract, nor does it absolve the member of the obligation to pay for the remainder of the fixed-term contract period. The member is liable for all costs arising from the following: failure to set up an e-invoice agreement; cancellation of the e-invoice agreement prior to the end of the membership; deletion of the invoice from online banking; or failure to confirm and pay the invoice via online banking by the due date. It is the member's responsibility to report any incorrect invoices to hamina@pgkuntokeskukset.fi.
6.4. Billing Service:
Visma handles membership billing and the collection of unpaid invoices. PG Fitness Centers reserve the right to refer unpaid invoices to debt collection. Access rights are suspended when a payment is 14 days overdue. Suspension of access rights does not automatically terminate the agreement; please refer to the termination terms. Access rights are automatically restored once all outstanding payments have been settled in full.
A service fee of €5 is charged for the refund of overpayments or erroneous payments.
7. Exercise Benefits and PG Gift Cards
PG Fitness Centers accept PG gift cards and most employee exercise benefits—referred to in these terms as "Exercise Benefits"—as payment methods for memberships. The accepted Exercise Benefits are listed on the PG website. Using an Exercise Benefit or gift card does not absolve the member of the responsibility to maintain a valid primary payment method (e-invoice agreement). Exercise Benefits may only be used to pay membership fees.
The Exercise Benefits accepted in the PG online store are Smartum Saldo, ePassi, and PG gift cards. Memberships may be paid for using other PG-accepted Exercise Benefits starting from the second month of membership.
7.1. Payments using an exercise benefit or gift card must be made two weeks before the start of the next billing period.
Payments made using an exercise benefit must always be completed two (2) weeks prior to the start of the billing period to which the payment is intended to apply. Payments are primarily allocated to outstanding invoices. It is the customer's responsibility to ensure payment is made on time. The customer is liable for any additional costs arising from late payments, such as reminder fees.
Payments are made by transferring the exercise benefit balance to PG Kuntokeskus or by activating a gift card in the online store. A balance sufficient to cover several months' membership fees may be transferred at once. Payments made using an exercise benefit are applied to outstanding and future invoices until the paid amount is exhausted. Invoices with a remaining balance are sent to the customer immediately after the payment has been processed. The payment processing time is 1–2 weeks.
Payments made using exercise benefits are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash. Up-to-date instructions for paying with special payment methods can be found on the PG Kuntokeskus websites.
8. Pausing membership
PG memberships cannot be paused except on the grounds of pregnancy, military service, or serious illness or injury.
To qualify for a membership pause, the grounds for the pause must persist for a duration of at least one (1) billing period. Arrangements for a membership pause must be agreed upon via email at hamina@pgkuntokeskukset.fi before the pause begins; subsequently, reliable documentation regarding the grounds for the pause must be submitted upon a separate request. A pause cannot be applied retroactively.
The member is responsible for the secure transmission of the documentation. The documentation must be sent via encrypted email in accordance with the instructions provided by the member's email service provider. Alternatively, the documentation may be sent by mail. By submitting the documentation, the individual consents to the processing of the data for the purpose described in this section.
The documentation must indicate the duration for which the grounds for the pause remain valid and the person to whom it applies. PG recommends redacting sensitive information from the documentation.
PG processes the documentation in accordance with its privacy policy solely to determine the grounds for and duration of the pause. PG deletes the documentation from its systems immediately after the duration of the pause has been recorded in the member's file. PG does not store any other information from the documentation. The membership card is not valid during the pause. Membership resumes automatically after the pause period. For fixed-term memberships, the pause extends the membership end date by the duration of the pause. A pause and a notice period for termination cannot run concurrently. 9. Termination of membership
A fixed-term membership (PG 24/7 annual pass, PG 24/7 annual membership) cannot be terminated during the contract period.
The notice period for an ongoing contract (PG 24/7) is one (1) billing cycle. Membership termination is processed via the PG app or the termination form available on the website. Failure to pay invoices or non-use of the service does not constitute termination of the contract. Contract termination must always be initiated via the PG fitness center mobile app or the form on the website; it is deemed effective on the day PG fitness center receives the termination notice.
The end date of a terminated membership is determined by the member's personal invoice due date. This date is communicated to the member via email in the termination confirmation. The membership ends at the conclusion of the notice period unless the termination is cancelled beforehand. Termination can be cancelled free of charge during the notice period by sending a written notification to hamina@pgkuntokeskukset.fi.
Example: A member's invoice due date is July 5. The member terminates their membership on July 20. The paid training period for the current billing cycle concludes on August 1. ...and the membership terminates at the end of the next full billing period, i.e., on August 29. Payments for the notice period are to be made as usual.
10. General Membership Terms
10.1. Misuse and other grounds for contract termination
PG membership is strictly personal. Membership cannot be transferred or leased to another person. The membership card must not be given to another person for their use, nor may it be used to grant another person access to PG premises. Handing over the membership card for another person's use constitutes grounds for immediate termination of the contract.
If PG detects misuse of the membership, it reserves the right to terminate the membership immediately and charge the member a breach-of-contract fee of €200. If membership is terminated due to misuse, PG is under no obligation to refund fees already paid by the member or to issue a credit for an invoice already generated for the upcoming membership month.
At its discretion, PG may unilaterally suspend or terminate the membership in cases including, but not limited to, the following:
unpaid membership fees
misuse of membership or membership card
behavior unsuitable for the gym environment
violation of general terms and conditions
inappropriate presence or loitering
In such cases, PG is under no obligation to refund prepaid membership fees or credit an invoice that has already been generated. Suspension or termination of membership due to an unpaid invoice does not absolve the member of the obligation to pay invoices that have already been issued or generated. If a membership has been suspended due to unpaid membership fees, the member must contact PG via email at hamina@pgkuntokeskukset.fi to arrange for the payment of outstanding invoices and the reinstatement of the membership. PG reserves the right to refer unpaid invoices to debt collection. Access rights are automatically restored once all outstanding payments have been settled.
10.2. Member responsibilities and other points to note
Upon joining, the member must provide accurate information and subsequently notify PG of any changes to their name, phone number, address, or personal identity code. Address and personal details are not automatically updated in PG’s records or billing systems. The member’s guardian is responsible for the membership of a minor and the accuracy of their information.
The member is responsible for ensuring that the membership card is used solely by the member to whom it is issued.
The member is personally responsible for their own insurance coverage. Exercising at PG facilities is at the member’s own risk, and the member must comply with the equipment usage instructions and other guidelines displayed at PG gyms.
Appropriate workout attire and clean indoor shoes must be worn in the gym. Exercising in outdoor clothing or outdoor shoes is prohibited. Personal training equipment and gear must be suitable for gym use.
Use of the facilities is permitted only for their intended purpose. Loitering on the gym premises without exercising or engaging in related, legitimate activity is prohibited.
Members should note that PG does not always have staff on-site. Members are personally responsible for ensuring their health allows them to exercise safely at PG.
Members are responsible for the proper use of equipment and gear, for adhering to training methods suitable for PG, and for following instructions and rules issued by PG staff, whether in writing or verbally.
Members are required to verify the suitability of PG’s facilities and equipment for their needs before purchasing a membership. Opportunities to do so are available during reception hours; schedules can be found on the PG fitness center websites.
Members may not conduct professional coaching or instruction on PG premises without a separate agreement granting coaching rights.
Members acknowledge that photographing or filming another person without permission in a changing room or similar area is prohibited at PG and constitutes the offense of illicit observation under Chapter 24, Section 6 of the Criminal Code. Members agree that if they take photos or videos in a changing room that include other people, they will obtain consent from the others present.
PG is not liable for personal injury or property damage sustained by a member or their property. PG facilities are intended for exercise, and members may use them exclusively for that purpose. Members must adhere to the PG gym etiquette while training.
PG utilizes video surveillance with recording capabilities.
The use, possession, and distribution of illegal substances and doping agents are prohibited at PG.
PG communicates with members regarding the fitness center and their membership via email and, when necessary, through its website. PG is not liable if a notification sent to the email address provided by a member fails to reach the recipient or is not read.
10.3. Changes to prices and terms of agreement, and obstacles to service provision
PG reserves the right to change prices. Price changes will be announced on the PG fitness center websites and via a newsletter sent to members; they will take effect no earlier than the beginning of the month following the announcement date.
PG has the right to unilaterally amend these General Terms and Conditions. The currently valid General Terms and Conditions can be found on the PG fitness center websites.
PG is under no obligation to refund fees paid by a member if it is forced to temporarily close a PG fitness center, a gym, or a part of a gym due to necessary maintenance work or other similar reasons.
PG has the right to transfer the agreement to a third party without the member's express consent.
PG is not liable for force majeure events that prevent or restrict a PG member from using the PG gym. A force majeure event is defined as an occurrence that PG could not have foreseen or prevented despite exercising reasonable care. Examples of force majeure events include war, epidemics, pandemics, civil unrest, natural disasters, general disruptions to transport or telecommunications, strikes, or other equally significant and unusual causes.
